Mayo Construction Company, Inc. purchased a new asphalt drum dryer from Custom Welding and Metal Fabrication in 2020. Approximately 258,000 ton of hot bituminous pavement was produced through this drum dryer during the 2021 Asphalt Paving season in North Dakota. I first was introduced to CWMF back in 2005, Travis and his dad were marketing the Michigan area and stopped by to introduce themselves and their products, at the time I was in need of a new support system for a dryer drum tire and ended up purchasing the Wedge set, Travis made a special trip back to Michigan to show us the best way to install the wedge kit.

I immediately recognized that the owners really cared about customer service. Since that time I purchased some drum shell replacements, screen decks and other components and always received a good product and service.

During June of 2020 we were unfortunate and had a baghouse fire that immediately disrupted our production at one our plants, I contacted several suppliers to see if they had a baghouse that was available immediately. CWMF had one of their baghouse’s that was only 9 months old sitting at their facility in Minnesota. As I was driving to Minnesota to view the baghouse I was in the midst of communicating with CWMF that if the equipment meet our needs we would have to coordinate payment, logistics, availability to make custom ductwork to fit to our existing drum with minimal down time, upon arrival the CWMF team showed us the equipment, we sat down and negotiated a deal and they took care of all the logistics to get the baghouse and new ductwork to us. We not only received all the equipment within 7 days of our first conversation but all the ductwork matched up as well. CWMF stepped up above and beyond the normal to make production interrupted to a minimum!

In 2020 we were looking to replace a drum, burner and controls at another one of our facilities, We looked at the larger manufacturers as well as CWMF designs and chose to purchase from CWMF due to design of equipment and the great support they have provided and have no regrets at all.
